At the bottom there is an orange panel with screws around the sides unscrew those and it should slide out once you do that insert the batteries and slide back in to place and screw back in. Make sure you don't lose any screws otherwise if you screw the others in and pick it up by the handle the panel will break. Make sure you have a reasonably small Phillips head screw driver.Make sure you use the correct batteries.
