Standard time. Daylight saving time is an artificial way of changing the time to match the hours of daylight more closely with people's preferred schedules, such as having daylight in the evening. In the United States, standard time runs from the first Sunday in November till the second Sunday in March. In the UK and much of Europe, however, standard time starts at the last Sunday in October and runs through the last Sunday of March or for about four more weeks.

There isn't an exact time for daylight savings to ensue itself, but a way I know to remember this question is of an old fashion quote, "spring forward, fall back.' This simply means in the spring the time goes upward and fall the opposite.

The idea of changing times and adjusting schedules doesn't agree with everyone. Some people complain about losing sleep. There are even some religions that are against it. Many believe that man adjusted and survived for years the way it use to be.

Most countries in the tropics do not observe Daylight Saving Time because at or near the equator the time of sunrise does not vary enough through the year to take advantage of the time shift. Also, except for the Middle East, most Asian countries do not observe Daylight Saving Time. Some countries, like Russia for example, do not change their clocks every year but keep their clocks at least an hour ahead of local mean time always.
