The ground wire of the coil. Its the white wire with a black stripe.

IF you have the installation instructions for the tach, it prolly tells you where to attach the tach wire. If not, call the manu. of the tach or search for their website online.

look on the distributor cap, there is a slot marked "tach", connect the hot wire there and ground the other wire

you have to tap into the coil wires the negative wire on the coil plug.

You do need a switched live to the bat terminal, but not to the tach terminal. The tach terminal is the negative side of the coil, the bat terminal is the positive side of the coil. Normally the tach terminal is for the green wire from the tach.

one white wire goes to the distributor, the other goes nowhere. This is the lead that goes to the tach

the tach wire is a solid green wire that runs from the dizzy to one of the loom connectors.

hook your green wire from the tach to the white wire from the coil PAC it should be a white and a yellow wire coming from the coil. the tach should have a white wire that will be your light inside the tach a red wire for power and a black for ground.. good luck

u have to look at ur distributor if it is an HEI "coil on top there is markings on the distributor cap for the tach but if it is a regular distributor with an external coil you hook it up to the neg wire off the coil neg/ black wire

sounds like a dead short in the tach wire, trace the tach wire and see if it the wire insulation has been broken.

At the dist there should be one to power the dist. & one for tach signal. Unplug one & see if car starts or if tach still works. Can't really remember for sure as its been a while lol. My 1972 tach wire is brown and it has a inline fuse from the factory. Your tach wire will be connected to the negative side of your terminal witch is labeled "tach".

to the solnoide find the distributer follow the center wire to from there to the solnoide one is a positive and one is a negative wire that is where you attach to the two nuts on either side if it

negative side of coil, or if electronic distributor it will have a port on the distributor, then its power wire and ground and then same for lights
