if you're looking for one in your yard, check fences, brick walls, gutters, short plants, under wood that has been left out, trees (if arboreal), small hedges, and if you have spare bricks check under them.
also any pet store should have them if that's what you mean.
Just under rocks, buckets and stuff like that. sometimes they hide in bushes or little plants. If you have droppings in your backyard, that look like a small birds droppings, thats a lizard! Just look around, the best time to find them is during a hot day, under rocks.
They can be in your backyard, but in deserts
you can usaly find lizards on rocks croling on them
You can get them at pet stores, breeders, and you can catch them if you live down south. If you are looking for a big lizard you might want to try a breeder.

It depends on the type of lizard, but most eat insects. Live crickets are common. You can buy them online or at some pet stores. They eat them whole though, so make sure they're not too big for the lizard's mouth.
