Remove the inside engine cover and you will see a dip stick and you can see that it runs down to the transmission. to further clarify; if the airfilter housing is a clock and the 12 o'clock position is closest to the front center of the rv then the dipstick will be just of the 5 o'clock position. FYI this is also where you fill the trans - through the dip stick.
Generally the transmission dipstick is on the backside of the engine near the firewall.

The 2004 Chevy Cavalier transmission dipstick will be on the left-hand side of the transmission. The transmission dipstick will have a bright yellow handle.
There is not a dipstick its a sealed system
The length of the transmission dipstick that goes in a Chevy LuminaÊ3.1Êmotor is 24 inches. This is a common size for the 3.1 engine.
If it is a 2.4 liter engine with dohc it does not have a dip stick... it is a sealed transmission.
A 1996-2014 Chevy Express Van 1500 transmission dipstick/tube and the engine oil dipstick/tube are both located under the hood on the passenger side. The engine oil dipstick should have a yellow handle. The trans dipstick is located next to the engine oil dipstick.
