Your Escape has Ford's infamous CD4E. That is of course assuming yours is not a hybrid (most aren't). The CD4E does not have an externally user serviceable filter. The filter is inside the transaxle case which means that he transaxle needs to be removed from the vehicle and disassembled for replacement.
Because of this, Transmission Fluid flushes are extremely important. My recommendation is every 30k miles for most vehicles. $90 every two or three years is money well spent if it keeps you from replacing or rebuilding the unit.

Follow the transmission oil lines and they will lead you to a removable kick panel on the drivers side. Remove this panel and you will find your spin on trans oil filter. Cheers! the filter is inside the transmission. the transmission has to be disassembled to get to it.
I have a 2002 escape so I imagine it's not much different. There is a pan on the driver's side of the engine up towards the front by the radiator. It is sitting vertically facing the front of the car. I went through the painstaking process of pulling mine off to find the transmission filter only to find it didn't have a filter. Everyone told me it had a filter, even the dealer. All lies =) Don't waste 3 hours of your time pulling that thing off and then trying to get it back on.
Pull the transmission oil pan and the filter should be inside.
need to find the fuel filter on 2004 explorer
where you find transmission filter??
You probley installed the filter wrong. Remove the transmission pan and check the filter.
how to do a transmission flush on a 2002 mitsubishi galant es?
Underneath the oil filter .
You have a brand-new 2013 Ford escape. It must have come with an owners manual. Open that owners manual and look in the maintenance schedule and you will find the correct filter.
If you follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine, you will find the fuel filter.
If it's a 2004 or newer then it is inside the fuel tank. If it is older, then you will find it inside the frame rail on drivers side, back were the transmission cross member bolts to the frame.
