Put a trap in every terrain. if possible, try to buy structures to boost the chances of getting rare Terrapets such as Rock Formation or Water Temple. I caught my Mynok and Tsunaga (The other legendary Terrapet) with the aid of a Water Temple. Mynok is supposedly found on all terrains but Tsunaga is water only.
