Where do you go to have a Mustang with an automatic transmission changed to manual and about how much will it cost?

I would call around and check prices with auto repair shops, and transmission shops. Personally I would keep the automatic unless your willing to put out a lot of money for all that work. , EzForJesus

AnswerThe swap is really not that difficult, you may be able to do it your self if you are a reasonably skillied mechanic. You will need the pedal assembly from another car along with the clutch cable. You need to change the flexplate for a flywheel of the same imbalance weight. Obviously, you need the transmission and shifter assmbly along with the bell housing. Yu can also get a wire harnes froma junkyard that you will need. Try one of the mustang specialty yards like MPS out of Georgia, they have packages for swaps such as this. I would expect to pay about 750 - 1000 dollars for this work. Any resonable shop should be able to do this, but you may want to try a local speed shop. Just talk to the guys at the shop and be sure they know what they are talking about.....

I had my Ford put a manual tranny in my mustang when it's orginial auto tranny went out (At 150k Thank you god). It cost me about 1,750 for all the work including the tranny which was slightly used but I've had this tranny for a year now with out any problems.
