I just removed my cigarette lighter from my 1994 Saturn SW1. 1. I took off the panel on the driver's side. (the other side is where the fuse box is.) 2. in the hole where the panel was I disconnected the back of the cigarette lighter (just pull it off. 3. My Saturn has a light connected to the lighter so you can see the lighter in the dark. There is a flap you push down and then you can pull the light off. 3. I got something to put inside the cigarette lighter to get it to twist (it's a screw on.) 4. After you screw it off collect the pieces. My car had four: - Cigarette Lighter - The piece on the back that I screwed off - The piece that held the light in place - The plastic piece (mine is orange) that the light illuminates through. Then put it back together in reverse.

I believe there is a blank block next to the ashtray where the lighter socket would be normally. You'll need tu buy one and install it.

Under the hood, driver's side near the windshield is a box. Remove the lid and there are your fuses. I have a 1994 New Yorker and according to my manual, the cigar lighter fuse is in cavity 8. It requires a 20 Amp yellow fuse.

The specs for the fuse box should be in the user's manual. (For my 1994 Honda Accord EX, the fuse for the lighter as well as the radio is under the hood)

Visit a mechanic for any auto repairs, if you lack car knowledge, you risk damaging your car more.

It should come with a diagram on the inside of the box covering the fuses. It should say "cigar" or "cig" something like that

Directions on changing a fuse for your 1994 Honda Civic are in the vehicle's manuals. If you do not have the manuals; take the fuse box cover off and on the inside is a directory, find which fuse goes to the cigarette lighter and using needle nose pliers or a fuse puller remove the bad fuse ad replace with a new fuse with the same amps. ( Fuses are color coded by amps.)

If you have checked the main fuse panel and did not locate it (could be linked in with an accessory fuse) the other place to look is behind the actual lighter casing itself, the silver "socket" that the lighter fits into can be pulled out and it will be attached to a wire with a fuse inline. Good Luck!
