How do you change the differential fluid in a 1999 Camry?
the differential can be found off the transmission by the left front tire. you have to jack the car up and put it on a jack stand for safety, or put it on ramps. there is a plug that takes an Allen wrench (10mm I think) on the back side, and one on the bottom. remove the one on the side first, and then the one from the bottom over a drain pain, and drain the old oil. the differential takes the same transmission fluid as the transmission does, it does not take any kind of gear oil. the hard part of this is getting the oil back in the differential. I used a funnel and a long piece of clear tubing. you can pass the tubing down the engine compartment and put the hose in the fill plug hole (the first one you removed) and dump the oil in the funnel. I put in about 1/2 a quart to flush it out, then put the plug back in the bottom and filled it up. Once the level is high enough to run out the fill plug, the differential is full. put the side plug back in and you are good to go.

Where do you put gear oil on a BMW 1986?
I assume you mean the differential oil. There is a square plug on the back of the differential. Unscrew it with a wrench and fill until the fluid level is even with the bottom of the hole. It generally helps to use a hand pump made for the purpose. They are inexpensive fit right on the gear oil container. Most any auto supply shop will have the oil and pump.

How do you check or add oil to the front differential on a 1989 Chevy k1500?
If you will lay down under the front of the truck and look up over the skid plate towards the center of the differential but to the right a little you will see a plug that a 3/8 rachett end will fit in. Remove it and put finger into hole if you touch oil then its full if not add gear oil until it runs out.

What gear oil do you use for a 93 4x4 Toyota pickup differential?
1. Make sure you can unscrew the fill bolt (the one in the middle of the differential). 2. Drain the fluid by unscrewing the bottom bolt on the differential, with your oil catch pan ready. When it's done, screw back in the bottom drain bold. 3. Now put in 80W90 gear oil, hopefully synthetic, until the fill hole starts to spills out. 4. Make sure both bolts are tight and away you go.
