In film acting (or any type of acting infront of a camera), you can do close ups, camera trickery, re-takes till you get the perfect take or if you forgot your lines/messed up, and generally you expressions have to be more sincere and 'human' like if there is not camera there and it is a real life situation. In stage acting, your movements and expressions often have to be bigger, so the audience can see you even if they are right at the back of the theatre. If you mess up, you can try and cover it up or the other actors with you can try and help you and carry on like nothing happened. "The show must go on!"
