Considered a fourth state of matter it is a gas with electrically charged particles?

plasma

The state of matter in which particles move fast enough to overcome the attraction between them is a?

If the particles are electrically neutral the state of matter is a gas. If the particles ore ionized - a "soup" of electrons and positively charged ions, it is a plasma.

What is a kid friendly definition of ionosphere?

The ionosphere is the part of the earth's atmosphere (the layers of gases that surround the earth and stay there because of the earth's gravity) where sunrays are able to ionize some of the gas substance. This means that the gas substances, because of the high amounts of energy in the sunrays hitting them, lose or gain electrically charged particles (such as electrons, the tiny charged particles orbiting the atom core, or ions, larger, electrically charged particles) and themselves become electrically charged. Electrical charge is responsible for the fundamental force of physics called electromagnetism, which is what creates magnetism and electricity. Because of this electromagnetism in the ionosphere, when large bursts of sunrays hit the atmosphere from time to time the amazing northern lights and southern lights, the auroras, become visible in the far north and far south of our planet.

Matter with electrically charged particles that has no definite shape or volume?

Plasma has no definite shape or volume and conducts electric currents.a gas

Why helium does not form ion easily?

it is a noble gas and is averse to losing its electrons from the outer shell of its atom and in which case it would become electrically charged

How do the northern lights get their color?

The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis is caused by collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enters the earth's atmosphere. The type of gas particles that are colliding result in the variations in color.

When does matter turn into plasma?

Matter becomes a plasma when it becomes a gas and the gas is ionized (electrically charged)

What kind of substance has particles that are far apart but electrically neutral?

C.Gas

Does gas have charged particles?

In its normal state, No.

What is the defintion of plasma?

Definition: Plasma is a distinct phase of matter, separate from the traditional solids, liquids, and gases. It is a collection of charged particles that respond strongly and collectively to electromagnetic fields, taking the form of gas-like clouds or ion beams. Since the particles in plasma are electrically charged (generally by being stripped of electrons), it is frequently described as an "ionized gas."

Result of charged particles hitting gas particles?

Light, on most cases.

How is the tail of a comet created?

The Comet's Tail forms when sunlight causes the Comet's ice to change to a gas. The gas or ion , tail of a comet streams from the comet's head, carrying with it dust particles. The solar wind electrically charged particles, expand away from the sun pushes the gas away from the comet's head. Regardless of where its going the tail points away from the sun.
