Help them. It is our job as not just Christians but as humans to help those around us. Jesus in The Bible gave the example of the Good Samaritan who, even though he was not friends with the man who had been injured, still stopped on the roadside to help him, give him aid and payed for him to stay at an inn. This is our example and we must do all that we can to help those in need.

1 Timothy 5:8 says "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"(NIV) so, it is a family's responsibility to care for the needs of its members. This would definitely include the need for an adult child to care for parents or grandparents who require assistance(1 Timothy 5:4). We are told throughout the Bible to 'honor our mother and father'(Exodus 20:12 / Ephesians 6:2+3) in return for the love they gave us (1 Thessalonians 2:7). Gray-headedness is a crown of beauty when it is found in the way of righteousness (Proverbs 16:31) and we are told by God to 'listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old' (Proverbs 23:22 NEB) Those who have 'no respect for parents, no gratitude...no natural affection' are opposed to God and we are told to keep AWAY from them. (2 Timothy 3:2-5). Even if a parent was not all they should have been when they were raising us, we are still responsible to see that they are properly cared for in their old age out of respect for God's laws, because, in God's eyes, it's the right thing to do(Philippians 2:1-4)(Matthew 7:12)(Matthew 6:33). This doesn't necessarily mean we have to care for them ourselves, but we are responsible to see that they are properly cared for.

God commands us in the Bible to honor our Father and Mother. In fact, it is one of the 10 Commandments. So the Bible tells us that it is very important to take care of our parents.
