The carbon dioxide taken in by the plant is chemically broken down, and the carbon becomes carbohydrates (such as sugar) within the plant.

6 CO2 + 6 H2O (and energy) ==> C6H12O6 + 6 O2

Carbon Dioxide + Water ==> Sugar + Oxygen

Are animals primary consumers of carbon?

Not really, plants absorb the carbon from their surroundings and herbivores eat the plants and take up the oxygen. Then carnivorous animals eat the herbivores and in turn they also take up carbon.

How does carbon end up in fossil fuels?

Fossil fuels (coal, oil natural gas, peat) are made from ancient plant and animal life. Plants and animals are mde from carbon compounds. As a consequence, fossil fuels contain carbon.

How do plants use up atmospheric carbon?

Plants use carbon dioxide, water and sunlight to convert it to sugar and a by-product is the air that we suck in.

What are the end products of respiration in green plants?

it is carbon dioxide and wateryun lang po :)

Where does the carbon come from that plants use to produce carbon dioxide?

The carbon in plants come from the carbon found in carbon dioxide (CO2). As plants undergo photosynthesis they draw in water through their roots and carbon dioxide from the air through specialized structures called stomates. So the inorganic carbon in carbon dioxide becomes organic carbon making up the oils, carbohydrates and proteins found in plants.

When carbon dioxide and oxygen enter a leaf what can undergo photosynthesis?

Since carbon dioxide is present, the chloroplast will undergo photosynthesis. However, if carbon dioxide level is very low, C3 plants will end up using oxygen instead, which is called photorespiration.

How do trees and plants cool the earth?

Sucks up the carbon doixide. Carbon dioxide is every animal's breath and heats up the atmosphere.

What are the End products of aerobic respiration in plants?

The end products of aerobic respiration in plants are:- 1) 6 molecules of Carbon Dioxide 2) 6 molecules of Water, and 3)Energy.

How do oxygen and carbon dioxide interact with plants?

CO2 is taken up by plants and is converted (with water) into sugars and O2.

How do animals in water get carbon?

Plants contain carbon and they eat the plants

Where does most of the carbon that is dissolved by flowing water over rock end up?

Most of this carbon ends up in the oceans.

Do plants give animals carbon dioxide?

well on plants they die and shrivel up like a rasin. then on animals they just cant breathe.
