It's only a start, but there is a post on the England Category of Ancestry.co.uk message board, referenced to The Islington Bowyers that reads: Karen, Are the Bowyers you are looking for the same branch as Catherine, d or Sir Edmund Bowyer? She had dau Mary, wife of Sir William Smyth, also names of Ashe and Windham are involved here. The quesiton was posted on 26 Aug 2002 by ddecoverley. So, who was Sir William Smyth....I have accessed the name and see a Sir William Smyth, 1st Baronet (born 1616, died 1696) under the Smyth of Redcliff, Bucks (10 May 1661), but this does mention his wife's name. Was her name Mary (Bowyer) Smyth? And then there are the Bowyer-Smyth Baronets grouped together on Wikipedia. Who were the Smyths of Redcliff, Bucks? Are they tied in to the names of Ashe, and Windham. Also, where is Islington, England or Great Britain located. Does anyone know. This is a start...can someone help piece this together to find out who the ancestors and descendants of Sir Edmund Bowyer of The London Discovery Company are? borderlanders.
