your batterie, the pos. cable run to a relay then to the starter. its called a starter relay its usually an the same side as the batt. on the fender, follow your batt. cables
check your wiring, if all your wiring is good then test your ignition relay, if its not the starter, not the battery, and not the wiring there's only one thing left. Good Luck with the repair
Starter relay on 85 glide is located under the seat on the drivers side of the frame. It is circular and you cannot miss the heavy wiring running to it from the battery.
check the wiring change the starter relay and clean ignition switch with electicial cleaner.
check your wiring, also check to see if theres power leaving the relay.
Battery to a large terminal Starter to other large terminal Trigger wire to small terminal (if you have an extra small terminal on new relay disregard)
you must have a short in which the starter is connected directly to the battery in 1 way or another
The starter circuit needs to be configured as a manual transmission. The neutral /park switch can be bypassed at the starter relay. As this switch simply grounds the starter relay coil you need to refer to the wiring diagram and ground the relay coil directly to the chassis.
The starter relay is on top of the starter.
There is no such thing as a 82 Heritage Softail
Stuck relay or the starter is wired incorrectly.
check your wiring to selinoid and relay and battery posts also make sure plugs and or wires are good and check the battery
