"David" is his Hebrew name. King David (דוד המלך) is first mentioned in 1 Samuel 16:13, and then referenced many times in later books. His name occurs over one thousand times in the Hebrw Bible.

Note that in the Hebrew pronuciation, the "a" in David is pronounced like the "a" in "father," and the "i" is prounced "ee."
