On the engine block between the first and second spark plugs on the drivers side of the engine.
Try replacing the engine coolant temp sensor.
Yes. A bad or failing temp sensor prevents the ECM from monitoring, and adjusting for, the engine temperature.
where is the temperture sensor located on a 2002 chevy trailblazer with a 4200 motor
If it has vacuum lines attached to it, it is probably a thermoswitch that controls the vacuum to the egr valve. If it has an electrical connection it is probably a engine coolant temp sensor.
There is a sensor located between exhaust manifold #1 and #3 (drivers side). This sensor controls the temp gage in a cars interior.
Sounds like the coolant sensor is unplugged....or possibly a bad sensor. Check to make sure it's plugged in...replace if needed.
It is located on the left side of the engine between the 6th and 8th cylinder on the block.
the knock sensor on a 91 camaro 305 in on the passenger side of the block, bellow the exhaust manifold. its a few inches in front of the bell housing., and has a single wire running to it. looks a bit like a temp sensor, or oil pressure sensor.
The CTS is extremely important when it comes to a computer controlled car. It helps the ECM determine idle speed according to temp, fuel delivery, timing, and if running an electric fan, when to turn it on.
A faulty ect (engine coolant temperature) sensor can do that.
