did you mean underneath the exhaust manifold? and when you say "front of engine block" do you mean driver's side of engine block 'cause there is a sensor down there but there is also a sensor under the intake manifold in the block next to the oil filter. Just trying to make sure. Thanks it is located on the front of the engine block, behind the exhaust manifold. There is a bolt holding it in place. it might break when trying to remove it.I used two screws into the sides of the plastic sensor housing going through a metal bracket and dobled up some tie wire around the bracket and a pry bar and was able to pull the rest of the sensor out.

It is above/behind the starter. The starter must be removed in order to access the sensor to change it.
remove the engine and transmission from the car, then remove engine flywheel and it will be right there

The Crankshaft Posistion Sensor (CPS) is located behind the harmonic balancer. This needs to be removed to access the CPS. It's down underneath the engine right next to the pully in front of the crankshaft. It's a pain to change because one of the two bolts is almost impossible to get to. Have fun with that good luck.

The crank sensor is not in the distributor, it is in the top of the bell housing. The cam position sensor is in the distributor and is not available separately
