did you mean underneath the exhaust manifold? and when you say "front of engine block" do you mean driver's side of engine block 'cause there is a sensor down there but there is also a sensor under the intake manifold in the block next to the oil filter. Just trying to make sure. Thanks it is located on the front of the engine block, behind the exhaust manifold. There is a bolt holding it in place. it might break when trying to remove it.I used two screws into the sides of the plastic sensor housing going through a metal bracket and dobled up some tie wire around the bracket and a pry bar and was able to pull the rest of the sensor out.

remove the front passenger wheel, remove the crank pulley, remove the crank sensor. you may need a GM special tool to remove certain bolts
change your distributor. its just a part inside there next to the ignition coil
