In a 2003 Ford Taurus :
The brake fluid reservoir is in the engine compartment , near the firewall ,
towards the drivers side of the engine compartment
( the firewall is the metal wall that divides the engine compartment from the passenger compartment )
The brake fluid on a 2003 Avalanche goes into the fluid reservoir. The reservoir should be bolted onto the drivers side of the firewall.
D O T ( 3 ) brake fluid
The brake fluid reservoir is on top of the master cylinder. Right in front of the driver, mounted to the firewall.
its right next to the brake fluid reseroir on the right side of the firewall ----
The brake fluid reservoir is under the hood on the driver side. The fluid is added to the master cylinder with the yellow cap back near the wiper cowl.
If you want to , you can buy a bottle of the correct type of brake fluid and " top up " the brake fluid reservoir yourself . Just make sure the cap area is wiped clean before removing the cap so no dirt falls in the reservoir . As the brakes wear , the brake fluid level will go down
The brake fluid is located in the Master Cylinder mounted under the hood, drivers side, in front of the booster, on the firewall. You will see a reservoir containing the fluid. Of course there is fluid in all the brake lines, wheel cylinders, & calibers.
If the " BRAKE " warning light in your gauge panel is on , either your parking / emergency brake is on and if not , YOUR BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IS LOW in the brake master cylinder located in your engine compartment
Check the brake fluid reservoir and be certain that it is full. If it's just a matter of the disk brake pads wearing, you might just need to add a little fluid, but if it's leaking fluid you need to get it repaired.
press a flexible tube over the end of the funnel. Worked for me.
I open the brake fluid reservoir lid off, check brake fluid level, and put back the lid. Brake light goes away. Seems the plastic float on the lid is not operating correctly in cold temperature.
The power distribution box ( which is " live " ) is located in the engine compartment , on the drivers side , near the brake fluid reservoir on a 2003 Ford Explorer
