The brake fluid reservoir
Thats the brake fluid reservoir.
In the brake fluid reservoir. This is in the engine compartment behind the battery.
the brake fluid reservoir is in the back of the engine on the driver side, you will need a thin and long funnel that it will reach the neck of the reservoir, carefully add fluid, allways checking the level.
Common causes are low brake fluid levels in the master cylinder reservoir, or air bubbles or leaks have been detected in the brake lines.
DOT 3
check your brake fluid level and fill with brake fluid to the top of the master cylinder reservoir.
Look on the brake fluid reservoir cover, it should have the type of fluid required labeled on it. Most autos use dot 3 as I am sure your Impala does, unless it has a special brake system.
Either the brake fluid in the reservoir is low (most cars have a fluid level sensor in the reservoir) because you need new brake pads, or maybe the emergency brake cable is not adjusted properly. Try putting your foot under the emergency brake pedal and pulling up.
Dot 3Dot 3
Check Brake fluid level in master cylinder and make sure Emergency brake is fully released
On a Mercury Monterey ( 2004 / 05 / 06 / 07 ) The brake fluid reservoir is in the engine compartment It is on the drivers side of the engine compartment near the firewall and the engine air filter housing
