astra sender unit is on the front side of petrol tand unplug wires and pipe the screw anticlockwise (have a bucket to catch petrol) the are 30 new from any astra sales depo
Under the back seat there are two access panels to the tank. The fuel pump/sender unit is under the O/S panel and the other sender unit is under the N/S. You can tell the difference as the fuel pump and sender combined unit will have two electrical connectors. The solitary sender only has one and a fuel return pipe i think.
i believe it's in the fuel tank. the fuel pump and sender should be one unit.

Do you mean fuel sender? If you do it's located in the fuel tank and is a complete unit (pump & sending unit).
i think it may be in the fuel tank, if you lift the rear seat base you will see an access hole to the top of the tank and the unit, safety precautions must be observed before working on this item. i think the pump is part of the sender unit, may be worth getting a second opinion before working on it.

You have to drop the fuel tank, which is quite a project, and then 'unscrew' the fuel sender unit. The sender is held in place by a lock-ring that must be gently hammered loose in a counter-clockwise direction. You can then pull the fuel sender unit out of the tank and replace the fuel pump. The difficult part of this whole process is dropping the fuel tank. Search for "drop suburban fuel tank" for instructions on how to do that.

You remove it by undoing the big ribbed ring that surrounds it by gently tapping it round anticlockwise with a hammer and flatblade screwdriver if it will not undo by hand.
remove fuel door, rubber boot, and then sender bolts at fuel fill. pull unit up and out. fuel pump is on the end of the pickup tube in tank.

If you lift up the boot carpet, there is a black disc with 3 retaining screws to the right of the boot. Unscrew these and remove the black cover plate. Underneath is the top of the fuel tank. The conector has four wires, two for the actuall fuel pump and two for the sender unit (This is for the fuel guage) This connector is plugged into the top of the fuel pump that sits in the tank, remove large plastic nut to remove fuel pump and sender unit.
