the switch is on the bottom of the colulm you need to drop the driver lumber panel to get to it

The turn signal stick. pull it gently in to turn them on, repeat to turn off. If you mean the switch itself, it is in the stteing column. Have to remove the steering wheel to get to it. The 1971 Corvette High Beam headlight switch is located on the floorboard, actuated by the driver's left foot, like most cars of that period. However, Corvette hid it under the carpet, with a reinforced pad molded into the carpet over the switch location. Neat huh?

Try pushing the turn signal lever forward, or pulling it toward you. This is a common location for the high beam switch.

If the bulb is not blown . it is probaly the multi function switch on the column

I am assuming the "multi-function" switch is the TURN SIGNAL/HI-LO BEAM/WIPER CONTROL SWITCH. It is located on the left side of the steering column.

On a 1996 Ford Explorer : It uses the ( # 9007 head light bulb ) which has ( 2 filaments ) inside the bulb for the low beam and high beam headlights ( 2 bulbs are required between the driver side and the passenger side ) In the dash there is a HIGH BEAM indicator light , located to the right of the fuel gauge and below the Anti-lock Brake System warning light In order to switch the high beams on you GENTLY push the turn signal lever forward away from you and to switch back to low beam , GENTLY pull the lever back towards you

It could be that the headlamps are burned out or it could also be that the high beam switch has failed.
