Luminas with a 3.1 have a Distributorless ignition system, commonly refered to as a DIS. There are three coils ( they look like large cubes with two spark plug wire fingers pointed at the radiator. They are located on the lowest side of the block btwn the bottom of the radiator and the exhaust manifold that is below 1, 3, and 5 spark plugs. Hope that helps!
I have a Lumina too and most commonly its 3 coil packs
Changing the ignition coil on a 1993 Chevy Lumina could be a hard and daunting task to someone who is unfamiliar with cars. It would be much easier and faster to take the car to a mechanic where they would have a better understanding and knowledge of the car and the parts it needs.
The coils are bolted to the ignition control module, there is no coil wire as such.
If you have disributorless ignition it will be mounted under the coil pack . If you vehicle still has a distributor it will be in the dist.
Open the hood and look straight down between engine and cooling fan. You will see the exhaust manifold. It should be under that bolted to the side of the block. Good Luck,
A BAD CRANK SENSOR WILL CAUSE NO SPARK AND NO PULSE SIGNAL TO FUEL INJECTORS a bad ignition module will cause no spark its located under the ignition coil trio pack
Its right above the ignition coil. Infact you have to remove it first to remove the ignition coil.
hey are located inside the distributor and function as the trigger for the ignition system to produce spark. The pickup coil monitors the rotation
That is the ignition coil.
Under hood, center, upper engine area, mounted on front of engine above valve cover is ignition coil
well it is the bottom that goes on a ignition coil and it is locoed
The coil is attached to the top of the distributor cap.
