the secondary air injection system is the smog pump and valve. the valve is located on the exhaust manifold with 2 hoses leading to the smog pump which is located under the drivers side floor. it is electric.
This item is located next to the frame approximately underneath the driver's feet. You will see rubber hoses coming down into this unit.

Jack up the truck. 2. Disconnect both the air inlet and air outlet pipes from the secondary air injection (AIR) reaction pump. 3. Remove the electrical relay from the AIR pump bracket. 4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the AIR pump. 5. Remove the 3 bolts securing the AIR pump bracket to the vehicle frame. 6. Remove the AIR pump from the vehicle.
The secondary air pump is located at the front of the engine, between the engine and the radiator, you can see it from below the car. To get to it you will have to pull the front of the car partially off.
