if its on a V6 2.5, its about a feet under the throttle body. on the back of the cylinder head near the firewall (right head). there is 2 bolt (12mm ratchet socket) and the exhaust tubing (3\4 or equivalent in metric key would do the job). It might be seized if no anti-seize have been applied last time it got checked up so be patient and don't break anything;). you'Ve got to disconnect the negative pole from the battery (if equipped with anti-thief system remember to have the code in hand!!). then you get the fresh air duct (from front to throttlebody) removed, you might have more space if you remove the throttle body and if you do so, remove the throttle wire carefully. the you might have access to the vaccuum and the connector then unbolt, 2 bolts dans exhaust tubing, then clean it and to it all in reverse for installation. (you dont have to strip the head with the bolts, just get it firmly thight.(don't forget to apply anti-seize on the exhaust tubing!)

As I recall, that engine does not have an EGR valve.
I Called the Mazda dealer today and talked with the Mazda Tech and asked him the location of the EGR valve on the 1992 Mazda b2600i. According to the tech only the California models have an EGR valve, I would think that any state with similar laws about vehicle emmisions would require the egr valve also. My truck is from Montana and it doesn't have an egr valve which explaines why I havent been able to find it.
On the 1998-2002 Mazda 626 v6 the Egr valve is located on the back right side toward the bottom of the engine. It is located in a very hard area to get to between the engine and the firewall. If you take out the intake system and the throttle control you can see it more clearly. there are two coolant lines connected to it. There are some picture of it at dallinwood.com/mazda_626.htm
The EGR valve is located at the right rear corner of the intake manifold, near the firewall. before unbolting the EGR valve, disconnect the vacuum line. - Mazda Repair Manual
