I own a 2002 Mazda Protege5 with the FS2.0 Motor. The EGR Valve is located below the throttle-body. You must take off the Intake tube to get a good view of it. To replace it I think you might have to take off the throttle-body, but I'm not sure about that...(yet)
NOTE: Mazda put out a technical note stating that "if your car has sat for a long time, the egr valve could be damaged by moisture (rain) and will need to be replaced". My 2002 Protege sat for 3 weeks and the rain caused this exact issue and had to be replaced. How did I know? The engine light came on (after never coming on) and the car had an extremely rough idle. Total cost was ~$400 (ouch).
Where is the EGR Valve on a 1996 Mazda Protege located at?
Were is the egr on a 1992 mazda protege
how much does it cost to replace to egr valve on the 2002 mazda protege
Were is the egr valve on a 99 Mazda progege 1.8
The EGR valve is connected above the water hose on the 2002 Mazda Millennia. The EGR valve is responsible for lowering the temperature of the fuel.
It should be underneath the throttle body on the back of the intake manifold
It's bolted right on top of the egr valve which is on the back of the engine under the throttle body there will be a small vacuum line going into where the egr valve bolts into the intake
where is the EGR valve on a 1989 mazda b2200
The EGR is right under the throttle body. It has like a little black top. You have to remove the intake hose to see it. Its a pain to get to and remove.
Remove the air breather and its underneath.
The egr position sensor is made into the egr valve. Look for the egr valve and you will find a plug with wires plugged into the egr valve. These wires are for the position sensor and they go back to the ecm ( engine control monitor)< computer> James= 15 year Mazda tech just a tip= with engine COLD,reach under valve and press on plunger and see if it moves freely(not easy) but freely. Hope this helps.
There is no egr valve on a 1990 Mazda MPV 6 cylinder
