From Haynes Repair Manual #36071: All Ranger 2.5L engines, 3.0L and 4.0L 1993 through 1999 and 2.3L engines 1993 through 1997 utilize an IAT sensor. Models following those years do not have an IAT sensor. If your Ranger falls in the category of having an IAT sensor, the sensor is located inside the air intake duct between the air cleaner housing and the throttle body. (the sensor electrical connector is likely visible from outside the air intake duct and the sensor fits into the duct and is removable from outside the air intake duct.)
