2nd on in on drivers side

1-5 passenger

6-10 driver

10 cyl. so I assume the V8s are similar

The point of gap on a Chevrolet 4.3 liter 6 cylinder is J7. This is also known as spark plugs.

The engine cylinders are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Ford Excursion I'm not a mechanic / technician but I assume it would be : firewall D - H C - G B - F A - E front of Ford Excursion

Number 1 cylinder, which would be the first cylinder on the drivers side of the engine. You want the rotor pointing towards the 5 O'Clock position looking at the distributor from the front.

User Avatar

number one wire will point to the number one cylinder

User Avatar

It's an engine size, it means one cylinder can hold 4.4 liters of air at the lowest point of the stroke.

User Avatar

According to www . motorcraft . com ( no spaces ) unless the engine compartment decal shows different The point gap is .027 inch The point dwell is 35 to 40 and The ignition timing is 6 degrees BTDC for 200 cubic inch ( 3.3 liter ) straight 6 cylinder engine

WHEN INSTALING THE DISTRIBUTOR THE ROTARY BUTTON HAS TO BE POINTING AT THE NUMBER 1 CYLINDER AT TDC

User Avatar

no it is not it may take longer for the 2 liter to boil but the temperature of the water is the same

User Avatar

Typically.. if nobody has messed with it, it will be located between the 4 and 5 o'clock position, if you are standing at the front grille, looking at the motor.

User Avatar

When the point are in no 1 position and just closing no 1 piston is up.

If you are looking for the number one cylinder on the engine you need to know which cylinder it is by a picture. If you tell me the year make and model i can tell you. Also timing rotation on a distribuator is the order in which the cylinders fire. The router hits the point inside the distibuator in the same fashion the cylinders fire. So cylinder one fires first the router hits the point for cyliner one then the next point could be cyliner 8. thisch means cylinder 8 is firing now.

User Avatar

there is no hard fast rule here. but typically with the cap off and number one cylinder at TDC on compression stroke. the rotor will point at number one cylinder on the engine.

User Avatar

The diameter is the length of a line segment perpendicular to the side of the cylinder, passing through the center of the cylinder, from a point on one side to a point on the opposite side of the cylinder. It is also twice the radius and is related to the circumference by a factor of pi.

p0301 is cylinder 1 miss fire detected, this means there could be a bad wire, sparkplug, or coil to number 1 cylinder.Yes, P0301 will always point to the #1 cylinder. The pattern is P030x = a cylinder misfire, and x = the cylinder number that is misbehaving. So any P0301-P0312 always represents misfiresSee "Related Questions" below for more

Yes the rotor should be pointing to the #1 cylinder when you are installing the distributor.

User Avatar

Top Dead Center, unless otherwise specified, refers to when the piston in cylinder number one reaches the closest it can be to the cylinder head. All the valves should be closed at this point.

User Avatar

1 microgram = 1 millionth of a gram or .000001 - so, just move the decimal point over to the appropriate position. As long as you don't change the value of the number, you can do what you want to it.

Cylinder and cone are different because:Cylinder doesn't have the sharp point at the end as cone has.Cylinder has two circular bases while cone only has one.

User Avatar

As on any automobile engine, the rotor turns in a 360 degree circle. When the piston for the number one cylinder is at top dead center on the compression stroke the rotor should point to the number one spark plug tower of the distributor cap.

User Avatar

According to the Ford shop manual, the breaker point gap, for the 3 cylinder , should be set at 0.024-0.26.

An apex is where the sides of a triangle or cone meet at the top to form a point therefore a cylinder does not have an apex.
