The pcv valve on the 2.4 l engine is located behind the alternator and the engine oil filter. The best way to change it is to go thru the wheel well. Take off the passenger front wheel, lift or remove the rubber splash curtain, remove the oil filter, disconnect the rubber vacuum hose, then use a 19 mm wrench to remove the pcv valve. I've found it easier to remove the two 10 mm retaining screws of the bracket that is securing two metal lines and an electrical connector for a little more accessibility. Changing the oil at the same time you do this is highly recommended for your convenience.
The PCV valve is located on the right side of the valve cover. After removing the hose, there is a retainer clip then the valve can be removed with pliers.
The PCV valve can be found on the air cleaner housing. The PCV valve will be on the back of the air cleaner housing. The valve should be labeled as such.
A diagram of the thermostat location on a 96 Nissan pickup can be gotten from the Nissan dealership. It can also be purchased from most auto parts stores.
None that I'm aware of, but you'll need to check with a Nissan dealership. I know I had a recall on my 96 XE, but that was for a valve in the fuel system.
Its mounted on the transmission.
If you are talking about a 2.4 96 and 97 are the same but only 96/97
In the drivers side valve cover , on the top , near the rear of the valve cover
On your 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch straight six cylinder Ford engine : The PCV valve is on top of the valve cover near the firewall end of the valve cover

PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation, is a valve that releases air by turbulance created inside the engine when the crankshaft and piston are turning while engine is running.
on my 96 2.4 its right on the valve cover, has a hose going to the intake manifold
It's on the top of the drivers side valve cover towards the firewall end
The PCV valve is located on the back side of the intake plenum.. When facing the engine, locate the second intake from your right. Run your hand to the back side of the intake plenum. The PCV valve is screwed into the backside. Start the engine, disconnect the hose from the valve. You should hear the air from the valve. Stick your finger on the hole and you should feel the vacuum on a good valve. If not, replace it.
follow the top radiator hose to the intake, its inside the cover.
Front top of the intake manifold.
On your 1996 MERCURY TRACER, the PCV VALVE is: UNDER HOOD, CENTER, UPPER ENGINE AREA, FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF ENGINE, MOUNTED IN INTAKE MANIFOLD.
its under the intake towards the front of the motor
remove the negative battery cable for about 30 minutes
96 and 97 go together .no 87.
take front tires off.
i think it is on the valve cover but to get to it you have to remove the valve cover because its on the inside. Usually on top of valve cover I just changed one on a 96 Ex 4WD. You need to remove the passenger side front tire, take off the oil filter, and unhook the alternator. It's behind the alternator. Above the pcv valve, there is a bypass hose. if you puncture it, it's a bear to replace. Good Luck
right above the oil filter
