you are going to have to get under the hood and reach behind the intake phlem and the firewall. {its a tight squeeze small hands are helpful}. when u get the pcv valve out you need a 3 or 4 inch screw to screw into the wad of screen and pull it out so u can clean it or maybe even leave it out. be careful not to lose the grommet that the pcv valve sits in.
It is in the valve cover.
The pcv valve on a 1989 Camaro is located in the top of the valve cover. It plugs into a rubber grommet and is easily replaceable.
Passanger side valve cover.
PCV Valve is located near front of hood on the engine block between the fuel injectors.
Not sure about the 1989, but 1990-1993 it goes into the valve cover. Look for a hose running to the valve cover and the PCV valve should be what is at the end of it pushed into the valve cover.

4.0? Those actually dont have PCV valves, it is the rubber grommet on top of the valve cover
