A 1996 Ram Van has a JTEC computer. It is under the hood on the center of the firewall.
The PCM is located under the hood, on the passenger's side of the firewall. It's about 1 inch thick, about 4 inches wide ad fits in a slot in the firewall. It will have a big bundle of wires coming out of it which is held to the computer module by a single bolt.
Single point of failure
If you are asking what it is its a nonvtec single cam engine with a vtec single cam head on top of the block
Unplug the ecu . . . which, when looking into the engine, should be on the leftside firewall. Single bolt holding the plug into it.
Original buckmaster is an O series on single module and is an 05 as o4 is 28 inch....done in 1 inch increments.
It is on the left side firewall as you face engine as this is where they are on the 98's. It is a Square / Rectangular box with a large plug that comes from the top. It is held on by a single bolt so look for the plug. It is large enough not to be mistaken as anything else. If you find the plug, the Transmission Control Module is what it is connected to. Hope this helps.
Unit test can be done within a single module Cohesion of a single module/component is the degree
If your car has the 2.5L 4 cylinder engine the crankshaft position sensor is located on the back side of the engine behind the ignition module which is below the intake manifold toward the rear of the engine. You can follow the spark plug wires to it. If your car has the 2.8L V6 the sensor is located on the back of the engine below the exhaust manifold. It has a single wire and is held in by a single screw. It is in about the center of the engine. The knock sensor is located nearby, but is screwed into the block and has pipe threads. By back of the engine I refer to the side next to the firewall.
Single in-line memory module and dual in-line memory module.
Everything. Sparks, timing, fuel delivery, transmission shifting.... Every single sensor and controller is controlled by the ECM
Its and inline 4 1.9L engine. The throttle body and intake manifold are located closer to the firewall. The exhaust exits through the front via a header. there are 2 types of engines for the Sl, a DOHC engine and a SOHC, these can be identified by the valvecover, it is either a single piece at the top of the engine, or split down the middle by the spark plugs.
The 1997 Land Rover Discovery (Series One / Series I) uses a coil pack that is mounted above the engine at the rear, towards the bulkhead/firewall. Each spark plug is directly connected to a single coil of the coil pack, and thus does not use a distributor.
