The Tibetan Plateau is located in Southwest China, Central Asia. It encompasses all of the Tibet Autonomous Region and much of Qinghai province and extends into western Sichuan province and southern Uygur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang. Besides China, it covers the territory of Bhutan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Well... In that it is a fairly vast area, 2.5 million square kilometers (about four times the size of the US State of Texas or the country of France) it really depends where you are standing.
