The main 100 amp fuse is located in the fuse box under the hood.
fordparts.com lists ( 2 ) different ( 75 amp alternators ) for the 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 with the 2.0 liter DOHC engine ( But for the 2000 Ford Escort with a 2.0 liter SOHC engine they list ( 75 amp ) and a heavy duty ( 95 amp alternator )

The main fuse (100) amp is in the fusebox in the engine compartment.
The heater fuse is in the driver's side fuse box in the passenger compartment. It is located below and to the left of the dash. It is a 30 amp fuse marked "BLOWER".
It is the 30 amp fuse in the passenger compartment fuse block next to the clutch in the Escort which is labeled "Blower".
It is the 15 amp tail light fuse in the passenger compartment.
