Apple makes their computers in China. They also make just about everything else there too.

They've created such a supply chain which is efficient as well as saves a lot of tax money for them. Apple has strategic partnerships with many companies from Taiwan, Japan and China, some supplies the LCD, some supplies other sensors. All the components are shipped to China, where two companies Foxconn and Pegatron have been granted contracts to assemble the Apple products, especially the iPhone and ship them to various distributors around the world. Interestingly, China has the largest share of Apple distributors, around 350 followed by Japan with 150 and the US with 60. The whole process not only saves 35% tax from the US govt but also ensures cheap labor availability in China, increasing the profit further.
