Under the bonnet against the firewall on the right hand side. It has a cap that has 4WD on it. Lift flap insert fuse to acheive 2WD
Im not sure if this is your problem but the fuse to switch from awd to fwd is ground not hot. So if the wire is skinned somewhere and grounding out it could cause that.
It's not in the fuse box. Looking at the engine from the front it's in the top corner, marked FWD. You open it up and bam, there it is.
i have the same problem on my 95.Heard it it may be the trans. solenoid or( clutch? )teeth gears worn. In the mean time put your fwd fuse in and its fine.
Put a fuse in the circuit labeled "FWD" under the hood on the passenger side.
passenger side of firewall, near strut mount under the platic clip that reads FWD.
Perhaps there is a fuse in the fwd fuse box under the hood?
The fuse amp doesn't matter since all you are doing is "completing the circuit" and therefore canceling the fwd function. The owners manual doesn't even specify which amperage to use...use whatever you have because you will see verification on your dash that the "FWD" light is on after you install the fuse, confirming you have disabled the awd feature. Comprende?
awd
There is not an actual AWD transmission fuse. On SVX's equipped with AWD, this is the default configuration. There is an empty slot in the fuse box (located under the hood on the right side) that is labeled FWD. This slot is normally unoccupied and allows the AWD system to operate. Putting a 10A fuse into this empty slot disengages the AWD and puts the car into FWD mode only. This is used mainly for diagnostic and servicing purposes only. This slot (normally empty) can be found on the right side of the fuse box, 2nd from the bottom, above the 10A A/C fuse. Then there is the VTD tranny, which uses a planetary gear centre differential with TCU controlled hydraulic multi-plate limited slip clutch. This one does not have the FWD fuse, since it's full time AWD. This has a Diff Lock Fuse, which locks the differential if you put the fuse in.
AWD = All Wheel Drive FWD = Front Wheel Drive
The fuse box diagram or legend can be found in the owners manual.
there is a bypass fuse by the firewall, passenger side were you can put a fuse in there to disable fwd
