The bell housing is the front of the transmission ( the larger diameter portion )
where the transmission is bolted to the engine
It is located inside the bell housing.
I am converting a ford ranger automatic (a4ld) transmission 4wd to a 5 speed manual from a 4 cylinder ford ranger. Will it work. What is needed?
I believe that is inside the manual transmission bell housing
15mm and 13mm for starter bolts
In my 2002 ranger, the starter is bolted to the bell housing on the driver's side of the transmission. there are two 15mm bolts holding it in.
The bleed valve is located on the drivers side of the bell housing.
The slave cylinder for a hydraulic clutch is inside the manual transmission bell housing
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe it is on the drivers side of the transmission , extended out from the bell housing , where the hydraulic line enters the bell housing for the slave cylinder
If you need to replace the slave cylinder it is located in the bell housing and the trans has to be removed. The clutch master cylinder is located on the firewall on the drivers side
Inside the bell housing the transmission must be seperated from engine to gain access
It should be on the bell housing above the hydrolic hose, mine had a rubber cap covering it.
