replace blower motor resistor. It is under the passenger side foot well.
The blower resistor on a 1999 Chevy truck Z1500 is located behind the glove compartment. There is also a resistor on the firewall next to the blower motor itself.
the contour has problems with the blower motor switch and the resistor. I would check the resistor connector for signs of melting.
Could be, Blown fuse, Bad blower motor, Bad blower motor speed resistor, Bad blower switch,
Blower motor: remove the glove box and you will see the blower motor and blower resistor.
Attached to the blower motor under the passenger dash
the Blower resistor pack is in the vent along the firewall its a white retangular door 1"X2" with one screw with a star head... your local ford dealer has replacement resistor packs and have been redesigned...It fixed the problem with mine...It only cost $14 I have a 1995 ford explorer console fan is not blowing at all (heat or cold). Checked fuse and its OK. Also checked for power to fan (no power). Could it be this blower resistor or blower relay?
Bad blower resistor. I just replaced mine.
figured it out! now i have heat.
there is a resistor that controls the speed and should be near the blower motor its called blower motor resistor
There is really no method to "check" the resistor, text by substitution.
Its located next to the blower motor housing and its called a power unit.....
99 TRNS PORT BLOWER RESISTOROn my 98 it is under the dash on the passenger side, you have to remove the glove box, and the blower motor it is behind the blower motor with 3 crew holding it in
the heater blower resistor is located on the passenger side footwell near the firewall. a complete how-to replace the resistor, along with photos is available on newcougar.org http://www.newcougar.org/forums/how-tos/3732-fixing-heater-blower-resistor-install-photos.html
The resistor is bolted into the evaporator case near the blower motor. It is accessed under the passenger side dashboard. The trim/carpet along the transmission needs to be removed. You can then unplug the connector and remove/replace the resistor.
Held in by two screws in a housing just to the left of the blower motor housing.
Inside dashboard in path of air that blower motor blows.
A malfunctioning blower motor resistor will cause the blower motor not to work. When the resistor is bad the blower motors will not turn on.
Bad blower motor? Blown blower motor fuse? Bad fan switch? Bad blower resistor pack?
On the evaporator case.
If you are referring to the blower motor resistor, it is located behind the glove box and in the heater case.
On the blower housing. Remove the glove box to gain access.
open glow box and take out computor and it is there on the side of blower motor
I own a 1997 Ford Contour and there was a recall a few years ago on the heater blower and resistor. Check out the recalls on the car.
the blower resistor is bypassed on high. a direct path to ground. if high is the only operational speed the resistor is bad.
