On my '86 (and all the other cars I've worked on) it's been attached to the bracket that holds the brake pedal. Usually it screws in (so you can adjust it) and it has a stop nut (so you can keep it from vibrating out of adjustment). Bob
why or how do i find the brake light switch on my 1997 nissan 200sx. how do i chane it out.
The brake light switch on a Nissan is located just behind the brake pedal. It sends a signal to the brake lights when the pedal is pressed to turn them on.
The 1998 Nissan brake light switch is located below the dashboard, on the drivers side of the engine compartment. The brake light switch simply plugs in and out.
The brake light switch is located above the brake pedal on a 1993 Nissan Sentra. To reach the switch the driver's door needs to be opened.
More than likely the brake light switch is defective or out of adjustment.
on the brake pedal
on your brake pedal lever.
There is no switch to activate or deactivate the brake lights on a 1988 Nissan. The brake lights automatically turn on any time the brakes are pressed.
Do you have power to the connection that is on the back of the center brake light? the red wire should have voltage to it. If not, it may be grounding out somewhere.
The brake lights in your 1983 Nissan pickup truck are controlled by the brake light relay switch. When the brake light relay switch malfunctions the brake lights will stop working.
Yes.
You did not specify what year the 300ZX is. If it's a 1985, the brake light fuse is in the fuse panel near the drivers left foot, third up from the bottom on the left side of the panel.(should be marked on the inside of the cover ) Hope that solves your problem, or the brake light switch behind the break pedal may need replacement.(inexpensive part, around $7.00 at Auto Zone/Advanced auto.
