I have a 98 olds intrigue...the camshaft position sensor is located around the middle polley on the left side of the engine. It has one screw. It's fairly easy to install.
on the cilynder head besides the engine
No. There are more controlled mechanisms that the single control head cannot address. Without changing the air box as well, you can't swap the control head.
The cast of Dual - 1999 includes: Markku Peltola as Mies
Location is behind the plastic air dam that forces air from underneath the car to go up and into the radiator (directly in front of a/c condensor). It's somewhat of a tight space, however you can pull it with force off the plastic air dam it's connected to (about midway down) and then unclip the sensor from the harness. Just don't pull too hard once you free it from the plastic air dam. These sensors rarely need replacing. If your Dual Digital Climate Control System is giving you an incorrect reading on the display for the outside air temperature, this indicates a couple of possibilities. 1.)The sensor tip is dirty and should be cleaned, or 2.)The green or white wire that goes to this sensor is worn or has broke somewhere before the sensor. This happened to mine (green wire broke) and would always give an incorrect outside air temp. I fixed the green wire and now the system functions correctly again. If you have to replace the sensor though, it should be part# 10248414 for a 2000 Intrigue.
When the AC light on the controller blinks, the unit has determined that the compressor should not run for some reason (too dry inside, too cold outside, etc.). If it blinks anytime, you might have a defective controller, but it is likely to be some sensor input telling it to NOT run. I had the same thing on mine, the controller would flash AC when I thought it needed to run, but after a few minutes of driving it would come on. The dual temp control units on these cars are screwed up. I'll never again buy a car with dual auto temp controls for just this reason.
Most of the IAT sensors are part of the MAF sensor it is a dual sensor
You will need to remove the center air vent diffuser. Gently prior around the center dual vent to find and release the holding clips. Slide the vent out. The flasher is on the left inside and is removed from the vent opening. Pricey part coming from China.
There is no fixing the actuator, replace it with a new one.
Where is the dual overhead cam located or the air temp charge sensor?
There isn't one. It only has a dual vane crankshaft position sensor.
Only if the transmission has a dual bolt pattern. Chevrolet and Buick 350 engines have the same bolt pattern. Oldsmobile and Pontiac 350 engines have the same bolt pattern. There were some TH 350 transmissions that have dual bolt patterns.
