On the throttle body, right next to where the cable connects. It is the device on the right side with one or two wire connectors exiting at a right angle. The device on the left controls idle air.

I just had this problem on my 97 GC. If you disconnect the plug from the sensor put the black probe on the middle prong and the red probe on either prong on sensor. You then slowly move the throttle up and the numbers should go up one at a time. Mine was all over the place on numbers. Went to the auto store and got a TPS I think it was about 50.00. THis has my Cherokee running good.

HI; You should find the TPS under the air intake on the throttle body on opposite side of Throttle body to controls. IE where cables attach on other side. Hope that helps. Should be connected to TB with two Torx screws, has electrical connection with I think three wires. Ken
