I was looking at fordparts.com and it shows the same part number ( Motorcraft DGE - 446 ) for the six tower coil pack on a 1994 Ford Explorer 4.0 liter OHV engine as the 4.0 liter OHV or SOHC engines in a 1998 Ford Explorer , so apparently the answer is YES
