There is none all most cold start problems are either from the crank angle sensor in the distributor ( have to greplace distributor for this ) or the Cylinder head temperature sensor. Both send signals to the ECU. Run a diagnostic on the ECU to see if you have these Codes you can find how to do this by going to one of the z car chat sites. or do an internet search for 300ZX ECU Diagnostic check.
On a 1984 Nissan 300ZX the fuel pump turns on with the key. For a couple of seconds to pressurize the fuel system for initial start-up. Once the engines oil pressure has raised to normal operating pressure. The fuel pump remains on.

The starter is located on the passenger side of the car in back of the front tire, trace the battery cable down and you will see the starter. Its held in with two bolts.

Update: The optical crankshaft sensor is located inside the distributor, which is on the top front of the engine on the drivers side.
There is an "Idle Air Control Valve" on the passenger side of the intake, a "throttle switch" on the drivers side of the throttle body, and "idle solenoid, idle control" on the drivers side of the intake
