Where is the cooling system bleed valve on a 2.4 engine for a 1996 Pontiac sunfire GT?
There is no bleed valve. You have to use a tool that pulls a vacume on it to fill it without getting it locked with air. Locate a small screw on the drivers side of the motor were the hose meets a hard line. (NOTE- It is a real small screw.)

Open the hood on your Sunfire. Remove the radiator cap from the radiator overflow bottle. Turn the engine on in the Sunfire, and let the engine run for no less than 15 minutes. Set the dials on the heater control panel to full fan speed, full heat, and front defrost positions. This will speed up the processes of heating the engine to full temperature. Without knowing exactly where the leak is, it's hard to be specific. However, coolant leaking from the engine at any place that is not involved with the cooling system is a bad thing. Since you state that the leak is at the back of the motor, I think that It could be a blown head gasket, or it could be a cracked engine block. Either case is serious. This is something you should address soon…
Sounds like your car is overheating, or at least there is a small leak in the cooling system somewhere. Job one, would be to be to look under the hood while the steam is present to determine it's source. I'd suspect a hole in a radiator hose or in the radiator itself. It could be a leak in the reservoir too. Is the cap on it nice and tight and sealing OK?

Be sure to release pressure from system by loosening the cap or wait til the engine is cool. The engine ECM/cooling fan sensor is located on the driver side(rear end) of the engine, screwed into the housing that the radiator hose attaches to. It has two wires, brown and yellow, and has…
