And corection if he is talking about the CPS or crank positon sensor. And no i only know were it is on the 4 banger, it is on the left side of the engine, under the belt cover.
I believe that the fuel pump for the 94 Pontiac sunbird is in the gas tank.

If it's an automatic, you may have a sticking solenoid INSIDE the transmission.

Did you try the horn relay? It is located near the fuse box.
The fuel pump is the same up to 94. The harness should also be the same.
Under the hood, on the lower drivers side, inside radiator support.
If it gets to hot the thermostat wont work. you need to repace it and the gauge will work again.

Pontiac didn't introduce the Sunfire until 1995, so you may be thinking of a Sunbird.
i believe your relay might be acting up. i would replace it r u sure u aren't stuck on delay!!?? been there, done that!! This happened on our 94 Sunbird LE...it is indeed the relay.

Well, if you have a 2.0L, you'll never find it...these engines have distributorless ignition. The ignition system is located under the intake manifold.
There are several frost plugs on a 1994 Sunbird LE 2.0 Liter. They are located on the sides of the motor toward the back. Look for a round disk that is depressed in the center. There are two frost plugs on each side of the motor.
