Where is the crank position sensor on a 2000 elantra?
The (CKP) crankshaft position sensor is located on the front side of the engine block, near the flywheel/driveplate.
How do you replace a CKP sensor on a 2000 Elantra and Can i do it without having to Raise the Car up and removing a Tire Assembly?
Is ckf crank fluctuation sensor and ckp crankshaft positioning sensor same for Honda Civic vtech sport 2000?
No the ckf and the ckp are not the same sensor for a 2000 Honda civic. The crank fluctuation sensor is behind the crank pulley and can be changed fairly easy with some mechanical knowhow when the timing belt is done. The crank position sensor is built into the distributor. To change this sensor you would have to rebuild the inside of the distributor or replace the entire distributor. Hope this answers your question.
The crank position sensor is behind the crank pulley. You need to remove the pulley, remove the plastic shield and remove two of the lower front cover bolts. Then you can remove the crank sensor. This proceedure is more complicated than it sounds. Check out the following website for a cam install and scroll down to where it talks about removing the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) http://www.mccgp.com/upgrades/caminstall/caminstall.php Hope this helps. Where is the crankshaft position sensor located on a 2000 dodge ram 2500 5.9 diesel model automatic?
2000 dodge stratus check engine light came on while driving. car started cutting out died then oil light came on and wont start at all?
2000 dodge avenger wont start no fire to plugs would the crank sensor cause this problem and how can the crank sensor be tested?
Yes. I had this problem on a 2000 Grand Cherokee. The problem came without any warning that I could notice. I parked it at night and the next morning it would crank and crank but not start. - I would imagine that his problem could happen gradually if the sensor had a broken lead wire or was gradually failing. In my case it was immediate and complete failure.
All Northstars have 2 crank sensors, there are located just to the side of the oil filter adapter & behind the front motor mount. I strongly you forget about figuring out which one is sensor A & which is sensor B. Replace both! 93-99 are the same part number for both sensors & are interchangeable. 2000+ have 2 different part numbers for each sensor & are not interchangeable with the 93-99 sensor.
