It is behind the starter. You will have to remove the starter to even see it.

What is buzzing sound in 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe anti lock brake system?

If it only makes the sound when almost to a stop there is a ABS wheel speed sensor dropping off and activating, If it buzzs all the time the power and ground wires corrode at ABS pump motor making it constantly run, you can pull the ABS fuse in the underhood fuse block and if the noise stops you will have to replace the pump motor. Hope this helps! I took my 2000 Chevy Tahoe to the repair shop because of the abs light that come on last week and it haded that buzzing sound under the chassis on the driver side all the time even with the ignition off, and the mechanic found a bad ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE (EBCM) that kept the pump motor running, also he suggested to replace the brake pressure modulation valve (BPMV) when i called the dealership to order that part they mentioned, that they have a "few" in stock because a lot of people are having to replace that part, so if there is a lot of people replacing the EBCM to stop that buzzing sound at the punp motor it maybe the EBCM that is kepping the pump to stay on, working at all time. And searching thru the internet about some info on this matter I found this comment at a website; I have a '2002 model Avalanche Z66 and the ABS light recently came on. A motor or module kept running even after the ignition was turned off. The only way to stop the running motor was to disconnect the battery or remove the fuse. I have found out that the problem is a defective EBCM electronic brake control module. According to three dealers these are being replaced regularly but if your vehicle is out of warranty your on your own. GMC and Chevy know the part is defective but for some reason $$ don't want to do the right thing and recall them. Thomas. complaints.com

Are all Chevy Z71 pickup trucks 4 wheel drive?

One answerer's view:No, the truck has to say z71 off road or z71 4x4 for it to actually be four wheel drive now the z71's that just say z71 on the side of the truck are not four wheel drive they have skid plates and other off road features but they are not for wheel drive!!!Another answerer's view:No, however vehicles produced with the Z71 package come standard with 4 wheel drive; two wheel drive as an option (rare). The Z71 package provides for higher ground clearance, skid plates & stiffer suspension for a better overall ride over rough terrain."Z71" is a GM "RPO" code which stands for "Regular Production Option" code. "Z71" is the RPO code for a special off-road package on select GM/Chevrolet trucks & SUVs. Features include four wheel drive and optional 2 Wheel Drive, all-terrain tires, an automatically locking rear differential, color-coded bumpers, a skid plate, special aluminum alloy wheels, and distinctive "Z71" badges applied as decals onto the rear quarter panel of vehicles with the Z71 package. These badges are not necessarily how one differentiates a 2WD from a 4WD as they can be custom ordered to include or exclude the words "off road" or "4x4" from the Z71 badge, either OEM or aftermarket.Clarification:The off-road package for the 2wd Chevy's are "Z66"

How do you replace the starter on 2004 avalanche 1500 z66?

You need an 8mm or 5/16th socket or wrench to disconnect the battery... if you're small enough, you can get underneath without lifting up the vehicle.... me, personally, I can do that on the 4x4 models, but the 2wd models are a bit tight for me, so I lift the front end up on those... the three bolts that hold the starter in place use a 15mm socket, and the starter comes right out. Make note of which wires connect where on the starter... car starters are pretty simple and I usually only do this on Class 8 truck starters (which use multiplexed systems have many more cable going to the starter), but you might want to use a paint marker to mark the locations of the wires if you're unsure you'll remember where they go.... disconnecting the wires from the starter, I believe one nut will require an 8mm socket.. the large one, I don't remember offhand, as it's been some time since I've replaced a starter on a GM truck, but I believe that'll be either a 15 or 16mm socket.. either way, if you have a complete socket set, you'll have the right size. I'd recommend reattaching those cables to the new starter before bolting the new one back in.... by the way, you'll find the stater in front of the bell housing, on the right side... once it's all installed, you reconnect the batteries, start it... there's a possibility you might have to add shims if the starter appears to be missing or just barely catching the flywheel teeth. And, of course, before you lift the vehicle, make sure you chock the rear wheels to prevent it from rolling. When you lift it, place it on jack stands.. don't just leave it sitting on a jack.
