On my 1998 Wrangler the sensor is located near the top of the transmission bellhousing on the driver side. Remove the 3/8" or so bolt and slide it up. I learned that the sensor must be gapped when you reinstall it and the gapping is about the thickness of a matchbook cover or piece of blue tape.
