it is under the center console in front of the shifter
Yes. My Mercury Tracer has an engine directly out of a Ford Escort (same year).
nope
No. A mercury tracer is similar to the ford escort and they have a different bolt pattern altogether than a focus. While they look very close, there is just enough difference that they will not fit. Mercury tracers have a 4x100mm bolt pattern and a ford focus has 4x108mm.
The clutch shares the same reservoir with the brakes.
The Mercury Tracer is same model. The Ford Escort and the Ford Tempo are 2 completely different cars. The Ford Tempo's windshield is going to be too big for the Escort, if I'm not mistaken.
No, the parts on these vehicles are not interchangeable/compatible with each other. You could use Mercury Tracer parts though.
It's the same one for the Ford Escort and Mercury Tracer. Try looking for "Haynes" instead. You may find some better hits.
Measure the rim diameter. It's probably either 13 or 14 inches. Measuring is the only way to know for sure.
Where is the computer located in a Ford Escort?
I have a '93 ford escort 1.9, I always use mercron automatic transmission fluid. Use Mercon but do not use Mercon V.
No, they are a different part number and are different steering columns. Stick with the escort/tracer switch. No, they are a different part number and are different steering columns. Stick with the escort/tracer switch.
The Escort/Tracer is the same car. The problem will not be between body lines as much as it would be between year models. The connectors might be different, or they might mount into the case differently. You could try it and see, or you could call the nearest Ford dealer parts dept, and have then check the part numbers between a 93 and 97 model and see if they are the same part number. You dont have to tell them you are going between a Tracer and an Escort. Just ask them to compare the numbers between a 93 Escort and a 97 Escort.
