On a 2002 Nissan Frontier V6 XE it is located underneath @ the passenger door handle about 24" into the middle of the truck. It is very difficult to find since it is covered and bolted, it has two hoses one on each side of the fuel filter. I did not replace mine since it looks a little complicated but can be a do it yourself type of thing.

What kind of Nissan? Most 2002's don't have a servicable fuel filter, they are part of the fuel pump in the tank. The pathfinder and frontier are the only ones with separate fuel filters.
